No imagination with naming one generation to the next.What a vile and vicious snake pit Anne's court was. "Anne's Court, think that it was any different then other Courts. Don’t imagine the places of high concentrated power are any different in this day.

Confusing. Disappointing and hard to believe ending.
I loved this book. Loved the insight of Anne Boleyn's court. Anne is usually portrayed as the villain or the martyr. I think this one shows the complexity of her court and the idea that you have to play games in order to succeed in such a court. Personally, I think Anne Boleyn was a little of both the villain and martyr. She didn't deserve what she got, but she could have played the game better in order to keep her head. I totally believe in any royal court that games have to be played or be played. Most are out for themselves and would step on anyone to get what they want. This book shows exactly that. I can't wait for the next book. Does anyone know when it will be released??
Although I have read many books on the Tudors, I especially enjoyed this one with it's glimpse of court life and perspective of a young girl of the queen's circle. What I appreciated most however, was the quality of the writing. Well done!
If you enjoy immersing yourself in the Tudor period with the pomp and intrigues of nobility, you will enjoy this novel! It is told from the point of view of "the plain Shelton girl" who gets her chance at court. Her gritty personality makes this novel a delight from beginning to end.
What a great take on Anne Boleyn and her ladies! Unlike any other Tutoresk book. A little humor, beautifully descriptive. This should be made into a movie. When is book 2 of the trilogy available???
I absolutely loved this book. I could not put it down. 619 pages and I read it in two days! I understand this is her first novel and I certainly hope it's not her last.
A lot of characters in the book, but not where the reader could get confused. Not too much definition on the background (such as places, locations, etc.), but clothing and what not is descriptive. The book ended the opposite of what I was thinking, which is why I liked this book a lot more. It wasn't as predictable as I thought it would be.
